A Network for Midlife & Older Women
ICS Skillsare offering beginners computer courses for €20 thanks to funding received from the Dept of Communications, Energy & Natural Resources. Anyone who has yet to engage with computers is eligible to attend.
Its a great way to get people on line and is a really good opportunity for people to meet new people and make new friends at the same time as learning a new skill that will enable them to connect to more people either though social media Facebook or Skype.
Participants will learn how to:-
· Create and send email
· Use Social Media - Facebook
· Use online telephone services like Skype
· Shop and bank online
· Book flights
· Transfer your photos to a computer
Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Pat Rabbitte, TD, said: “This important scheme means that 40,000 people will gain from IT training between now and June 2012. The programme is to support those who have not yet gone online.” Summing up the Minister said “Firstly and most importantly this initiative is about people – not leaving them behind – giving them the opportunity to engage”.
