National Library of Ireland Photographic Archive Temple Bar

A visit to the National Library of Irelands Photographic Archive current exhibition "Small Lives" will take place on Tuesday April 17th next.

The 50 photographs in this exhibition are drawn from across NLI’s collections, and range from formal studio portraits featuring children of the landed classes taken in the 1880s to more candid shots of city kids taken in the 1960s. Many feature children who are unknown so perhaps you might spot yourself in some of the pictures.

The NLI Director Elizabeth Kirwin will give a welcome address to OWN members in addtion to viewing the displays of really fabulous photographs, the exhibition features a range of educational materials. This is a free event and OWN members should meet at the main square in Temple Bar at 2.15pm to proceed to the Archive - A member of the network will co-ordinate the group. OWN will be using this opportunity to develop a future project between the National Library and OWN.
