A Network for Midlife & Older Women
OWN was granted funding by the Department of Justice and Law Reform to hold a series of taster workshops to enable older women to take up employment or avail of opportunities of life long learning with a view to taking up employment.
These workshops took place in Dublin, Galway, Cavan and Cork and were held over the course of the year on an eight week basis. By the end of the course over 80 network members had taken part.
The workshops included public speaking, creative writing, digital photography and personal grooming. In addition participants heard presentations from the Women in Business Network Fingal and Galway. As part of the project participants were encouraged to do a project which combined the elements of the workshop. www.fingalceb.ie/events/fingal-women-in-business-network and www.networkgalway.com

Following on the success of the project a Training for Trainers course was held and a Toolkit produced.
